Recent ActivityJazz Band has middle school students from all three grade levels. All 6th, 7th and 8th grade band members are welcome to audition for a spot in one of two jazz bands.
We are looking for students who play these instruments- alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, trombone, up-right bass or bass guitar, electric guitar, percussion, and piano. We might take on some flutes and clarinets depending on the needs of the ensemble and my mood that particular month.
Auditions will be held around Labor Day.

Group Announcements Marching Band ExhibitionThe marching band exhibition for tonight has been cancelled due to inclimate weather. They will reschedule the show for next Tuesday.

JAZZ BAND AUDITIONSJazz band auditions are currently under way and will en this Thursday at 8:30am.
Audition results will be posted Friday, September 9th. Results can be found on fusion and on the marquee next to the band room entrance. GOOD LUCK!!! JAZZ BAND AUDITIONSThere will be a brief meeting of all students interested in trying out for jazz band. The meeting will take place in the band room on Tuesday, August 30th. The meeting starts promptly at 8:10. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. MacTavish for details.
2011-2012 JAZZ BANDWe will be having Jazz Band this year every Mon-Wed-Fri.
Jazz Band will start at 7:45 and end at 8:20. Auditions will be announced during band class and on the morning announcements. Jazz Band will be open to Alto, Tenor, and Bari Sax as well as Trumpet, Trombone, Drum Set, Piano, Bass, and Guitar. Jazz Combos will involve every variety of instruments. Tuesday/Thursday BandThe Tuesday/Thursday will supliment their rehearsals with Friday mornings as well. We have been hit with a lot of activities during Focus 30 so we need the extra rehearsal time.
AUDITIONSAuditions for BRASS will be Tuesday, August 31st.
Auditions for PIANO, GUITAR, DRUMS, and BASS GUITAR will be on Wednesday, September 1st. Warm up in the band room and then come to my room (maroon 175) any time between 8-9am to audition. GOOD LUCK!!! SIGN-UPSign-up sheet for jazz band is on the band room door. Please make sure you put your name, instrument, grade level, and pod on the sign-up sheet.
